Project
The ground and first floors were a lightly sanded poured concrete floor with a a cantilevered precast stairs joining the levels. Bespoke threads and risers were required to clad the precast stairs and continue the floor finishes.
Vico produced a technical specification for the stairs and landing, then managed the manufacture of the pieces to deliver a high quality of finish.
The concrete design was based on the same C35 as used in the floors which required the manufacturer to source sand and aggregates from the same quarry.
The thread mix used a grey cement with a small amount of a dark grey pigment, the riser used a 50:50 mix of white and grey cements,
Parallel groves were cast in for the insertion of black carborundum grip strips.
